Experience the calmness of Yin Yoga and feel the relief of myofascial release by adding rolling with therapy balls. Yin yoga can improve your wellbeing in many ways. Your body and mind will benefit physically, emotionally and energetically from remaining passively in simple yoga poses for an extended time. For instance, on a physical level it can increase range of motion in your joints and build bone density. Energetically it will enhance and balance prana (your life force ) and flow of chi. It will help your body turn off the fight or flight response and activate the rest and digest mode. In return this strengthens your immune system and helps lower blood pressure and heart rate. Myo Yin and Yoga Nidra are calm, quiet and slow, for good reason: They allow you to connect to your body and mind and practice self-care. Without rushing in between yoga poses, we give the body time for a “rebound” and let sensations sink in. Yoga Nidra, also known as non-sleep, deep rest (NSDR), offers deep healing and enhances the overall experience of this beautifully relaxing and healing wellness session. grown up in Bavaria, calls the beautiful Bruce Peninsula her home. She has been living and practicing yoga for more than 20 years in multiple countries and became a yoga teacher in 2018. The functional approach to yoga, as taught by Paul Grilley, formed a fundamental part of her teacher training and it has essentially changed her take on yoga. Knowing that it is your “skeletability” that defines how you “do a yoga pose“, Barbara will always encourage students to listen to their body’s signals. A big interest in anatomy drives her teachings. Her passion for a healthy body & mind ultimately led her to dive into Body Rolling, a self massage technique with pliable, grippy balls. Learning from the leading force in this field, she is certified with Tune Up Fitness by renowned fascia expert Jill Miller. Furthermore, Barbara combines her knowledge of Body Rolling with Yin Yoga and offers Myo Yin Yoga classes, a calm and passive style of yoga. Non-Sleep Deep Rest/Yoga Nidra compliments her skill of teachings and with her soft voice she will guide you into deep relaxation.
